Virtual History

The W.H. Stark House is excited to announce free education programs available to students both at schools and at home in Spring 2021. Our new Virtual History program combines online lecture videos with hands-on activity kits designed for Elementary, Middle School, and High School.

These programs are aligned with TEKS and include lesson plans to help guide teachers and adult facilitators. The content focuses on a variety of age and grade appropriate themes from Social Studies, Health Education, Science, and English. Each lesson includes local connections and features materials from The W.H. Stark House collection.

We look forward to connecting with you and continuing to develop new and creative ways to help students in our community learn.

Virtual History lecture videos are all pre-recorded and accessible on our website – ‘ Watch Videos’ tab above – beginning March 9, 2021. These videos are open and available to all educators.

Educators who register for our Virtual History program will receive a kit with hands-on activities and lesson instructions. These kits are provided FREE through the generous support of the Nelda C. & H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation.

A couple things to keep in mind:

– Kits are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Register early if you’re interested!

– Kits will be delivered to schools in Orange County and are available for pick up to schools in Region 5 (Texas), CalcasieuParish (LA), and for homeschool groups.
